Now this man was nominated by Clinton in June of 2000 - and Charles Robb
on his web site pushed to get him into hoffice.
I am wondering inasmuch as this man was already nominated how Clinton
can pull this of now - wouldn't he have had to withdraw he nomination he
previously made in order to now by pass all legal requirements? I
always hated Robert Rules of Order - but something is wrong here.
Robb married Linda Johnson the daugher of former Presidient Lyndon
Johnson but he just GOT BEAT......
I am not familiar with this stuff but supposedly it was felt a judge was
not needed - be big waste of taxpayers money - this man has personal
vested interests in federal funding if he is in this renovation thing
for Richmond.....
It seems the only reason he was nominated by Clinton, was the man is
black.
Clinton seems to be very color conscience but why is this post which has
remained open for ten years, suddenly so important......maybe Clinton
needs a friend on the bench - but the Supreme Court would have last say
in matter.

ROBB APPLAUDS PRESIDENT CLINTON'S NOMINATION OF RICHMOND'S ROGER GREGORY
TO THE FOURTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS
Washington, DC � Senator Chuck Robb (D-VA) today announced that
President Clinton has nominated Roger Gregory of Richmond, Virginia for
a seat on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Senator Robb worked closely with the White House in identifying
candidates and strongly supported the nomination of Roger Gregory. Mr.
Gregory's nomination has garnered bipartisan support in the Senate and
his confirmation is expected to move swiftly.
"President Clinton has chosen a highly respected lawyer who would bring
impressive trial experience to the appellate bench," Senator Robb said.
"I am very proud to support his nomination."
"Roger Gregory is a highly visible member of the legal community in
Richmond and beyond,"
Robb said. "Mr. Gregory has a proven commitment to the judicial process,
in addition to having a strong background as a community leader in both
education and civic organizations." Robb continued, "Roger Gregory will
make a great addition to the United States judicial system and the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit."
Gregory spent about two years with the Richmond firm of Hunton &
Williams before starting his own law practice. Currently, Gregory is
both managing partner of the firm Wilder & Gregory, and head of the
firm's litigation section.
Gregory, a former President of the Old Dominion Bar Association and
Rector at Virginia Commonwealth University, is currently a member of the
Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, and serves on the Board of the
Richmond Bar Association, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys,
and the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society. Additionally,

he is heavily involved in the Renaissance Executive Committee, a
partnership dedicated to revitalizing downtown Richmond.

Gregory received his undergraduate degree from Virginia State
University, summa cum laude, in 1975. He received his J.D. from the
University of Michigan Law School in 1978.
