The Reagan's got away with a much larger haul than that. I forget how many
plane loads it took to remove the bounty. Nancy hadn't declared most of her
gifts on taxes. There was an IRS investigation and she was forced to pay
about $1 million in back taxes. (From memory from Kitty Kelly's book 'Nancy
Reagan').
As I recall, this was happening around the same time Leona Helmseley was in
jail for tax evasion.
If the gifts were accepted by Bill & Hill before she was sworn in as
Senator, I doubt Judicial Watch has a leg to stand on. But they probably
just like the publicity of non-stop harassment of the Clintons.
