The city of London is under the most intensive electronic surveillance of any civilian
city in the world. There are cameras, satellites, listening devices, infra-red, you
name it. It sall to prevent (ostensibly) IRA attacks, and has been remarkably
succesful. I've also read accounts that a great many cars entering London are searched
by checkpoints, not to mention boats and planes.
