BTW, I've been fwding to Kris a series of posts pointing the finger at Ken
Lay of Enron --Dubya's buddy and unofficial "energy czar"-- as most likely
directly responsible for manufacturing California's "energy crisis," by
jacking up the price of the natural gas needed to fuel electrical power
plants. Now the state is promised a natural gas (and of course OIL =
gasoline) "crisis," which both he and Dubya blame on popular resistance to
the "free market" and its obscene profit-taking and "them durned
environmentalists" restricting pollution. And I just read that --now that
PG&E and SoCal Edison are on the edge of going bankrupt (another scam)--
Lay's ENRON is jumping into that vacuum, stepping over the corpses, to cash
in by selling power more directly to consumers ...
