How dumb. The people of Daschle's home state also voted for Daschle.
Daschle is under no obligation to vote per the desires of the state
legislature. It would be interesting to know how many letters and phone
calls his office received from constituents opposed to the nomination
compared to those in favor. The voters are the body he has an obligation to
listen to. Even so, it is his vote and his coice.
