How in the world can black Americans give their undying and almost unanimous loyalty to a political party that actively rips them off year after year? Social Security is one of the greatest frauds ever perpetrated against the American people. It's a pure vote-buying income redistribution scheme that has a much higher negative impact on black than white Americans. Republicans want to do something about the inequities . and earn the hatred of black voters as their reward. Democrats block any attempt to correct the inequities and earn the loyalty of black voters? Here's the deal. Black males. Black females. White males. White females. Each group has a different life expectancy. The shortest life expectancy? Black males. The longest life expectancy? White females. What does this mean? This means that white females will live to collect more Social Security benefits than black males will. They all start collecting at the same age --- but the white ladies collect longer. Here's an example - actual dollar figures. The numbers were generated by the RAND corporation, a non-partisan think tank. The comparison is between black and white men, so just remember that the disparity would be even worse between black men and white women. Remember, the ladies live longer. OK .. You take a 30-year-old black man and a 30-year-old white man starting right now. Each will earn exactly the same amount, $30,000 a year, for their entire working life right up to their retirement day. Then they both start collecting their Social Security benefits - $1,162 a month - on exactly the same day and keep collecting those benefits until they take the dirt nap. The life expectancy of the black man? It's 79 years. The white man? The stats say he will live to 81 years. Mr. Charlie will collect his $1,162 a month for 24 months longer than the brother. This means that the black guy gets about $27,000 less than his white buddy. Remember - when you die, your benefits stop. Nothing to your wife, children or heirs. It's just gone! Now --- you want something to bitch about? You want a reason to protest? You think the Confederate battle flag was bad news? You don't like Dixie? Well, tell you what, my friends. Neither that Confederate battle flag nor that drinking song is taking tens of thousands of dollars out of your pocket and passing that money off to white folks. Bottom line? Hell! You're getting screwed! And you seem to like it! Who wants to make this right? The Republicans - George W. Bush - that's who! They want to take some of this money that you're losing and put it into private retirement accounts. YOUR accounts. Accounts that can't be taken from you and given to anyone else! Accounts that you can pass off to your wife, your kids, or any one you want! That's what the Republicans are offering (and the Libertarians, by the way.) But your pals the Democrats? They're fighting these changes! They don't want you to be able to take your own money and put it in your own private account! They need that money! They need that money to buy votes! Not from you. They have you wrapped up! They know you're on the plantation and not going anywhere! They just keep feeding and validating your victim status and the votes are there! All the while they take your hard-earned money from you and use it to buy votes from old farts who are easily scared about losing their Social Security benefits! Make sense to you? How could it?
