A computerese friend of mine made an interesting observation. Whether tis
related, quien sabe, what he said was that because of revelation during the
hubub about carnivore and isp's it came out that yes the black box could suck
up everything, but the feebs weren't gonna do that because they weren't
supposed to under law. They had just been conducting tests to see if it could
work, but since they aren't supposed to gather all info and they gather just
the info they need. The Feds send a guy around every two days to pick up a
zip disk. Well so, some guy came up with some software that would do the same
thing the Feds said they were doing with carnivore without their box in
position to catch everything. Well guess what the Feds turned the software
down and I believe it has been reportedthey have kept the boxes at the ISP's
and server sites and changed their names. To continue, my friend then notes
that the downturn in the internet stocks developed soon after revelations
made it clear to those who understand that stuff, that the internet was being
comprimised. Whether tis related or no, again quien sabe, but I did find it
interesting.
