-Caveat Lector- [This was reported on Fox News, haven't found anything else on this.] NASCAR Team Owner Hendrick: Pardon Now Questioned Rick Hendrick, owner of a major car dealership and NASCAR team owner, was convicted for mail fraud in 1997. He was a member of NationsBank's Board of Directors. His friend Hugh McColl was the chairman of NationsBank at that time. When NationsBank merged with Bank of America, McColl became chairman and CEO of Bank of America. McColl wrote a letter to Bill Clinton, recommending a pardon for Rick Hendrick -- and on December 7, 2000, Hugh McColl announced that Bank of America would donate $500,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Two weeks later, Hendrick would receive a Presidential Pardon.
