TEHRAN
U.S., Zionist Regime Main Producers of Torture Devices
TEHRAN TIMES INTL. DESK
The United States and the Zionist regime are the main producers of torture
devices, said the official Argentine news agency. The agency, citing human
rights organization Amnesty International (AI), said that more than 150 firms
are producing devices for torture, adding that more than 80 percent of them
are American. The AI report demanded a worldwide ban on the production of such
devices. The most common devices are chemical and electric shocks devices.
Only the Zionist regime has officially approved the use of torture. In the
meantime, wire copies said five Palestinians were injured during clashes with
Israeli soldiers in the West Bank Tuesday as Palestinians buried another
victim of the five months of fighting.Medical officials said five
Palestinians stone-throwers were shot by Israeli soldiers with rubber-coated
steel bullets during clashes which followed a gunfight that raged between
armed Palestinians and Israeli troops near the village of Beit Rima before
dawn in the West Bank, northwest of Ramallah.Medical officials said the five
people were taken to hospital, but did not sustain serious injuries. In
Ramallah, about 1,000 people attended a funeral for Hussam Imad al-Disi, 17,
shot dead by Israeli soldiers during clashes outside the nearby Qalandia
Palestinian refugee camp."Revenge, Revenge!" the mourners shouted. "The Doors
of the Aqsa Are Made of Steel, They Only Open for the Martyr," cheered
others, many carrying Palestinian flags.Occupied Al-Qods' Al-Aqsa Mosque
compound, built atop the most sacred site for Jews, is the third holiest
shrine in Islam."Bait-ul-Moqaddas (Jerusalem) cannot be returned without
blood," shouted the mourners.Al-Disi was the 420th person to be killed in
fighting between Israelis and Palestinians, which broke out after Israeli
right-wing Prime Minister-Elect Ariel Sharon paid a controversial visit to
the Al-Aqsa compound under heavy police escort on September 28.Meanwhile
another reports said Israeli police arrested the brother of the West Bank
leader of Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement overnight,
Zionist military sources said Tuesday.Hisham Barghouti, who has Saudi
nationality, was arrested as he was trying to cross Allenby Bridge, the link
between Jordan and the West Bank, carrying material that authorities said
could be used for weapons. He told police he was carrying the material for use
in a camera for his son, studying in Ramallah in the West Bank, and did not
know it could have a military use.His brother, Marwan, is the West Bank
leader of Fatah. Israeli authorities have publicly accused Marwan Barghouti
of being behind the nearly five months of deadly clashes there between
Israelis and Palestinians.
