FTC-Linda --------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Robert T. Bevill Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2001 7:07 PM Subject: [EZOLA] Campaign in full swing Well Ezola supporters, The campaign is in full swing, and Ezola is receiving many invitations and speaking engagements. The donations are coming in daily, and I am amiss in my duties to get our thank-yous out to each of you. So, please don't be upset with Ezola. Things are beginning to pick up steam, as the Democrats try to jockey for position, and the Republicans jockey to be heard. Thank you very much for your continued words of encouragement, and donations. Although our expenses have been quite minimal up until now, we are in the process of locating a campaign headquarters, with ample parking, and easy access for the many volunteers who have asked to participate. We now have yard signs, hats, and T-shirts, and will be glad to send you one, for a handsome donation, of course. Let's see if we can fire up the voters to turn out for Ezola on April 10th. Even though Ezola will automatically be on the general ballot on June 6th, it is important that we help turn out the vote for the special primary election. There will be an important Los Angeles city election, with its own issues to consider. But for now, be sure that you call the LA County Elections office [(562) 462-2748], and ask for your absentee ballot, if you will be out of town on April 10th. I will continue to update the web site with upcoming events, as soon as we receive them. Best Regards, Bob Bevill Ezola for Congress 1-800-839-6925 ------ Voice of Citizens together - VCT American Patrol Website - http://www.americanpatrol.org/ Ezola Foster for Congress Ezola Foster, a friend of the United States Constitution and a true Patriot, has announced her plans to run for Congress. Heustis, Jr. - 02/23/2001 Just when people thought that the Reform Party was dead in the water, Ezola Foster has emerged by announcing her candidacy for the 32nd District Congressional seat. Foster, a former Los Angeles educator and Patrick J. Buchanan's 2000 Vice Presidential running mate, breathes life into the Reform Party just when it needs it most. With the Republican and Democratic parties continuing to ignore nationalist issues, Foster is primed to fight for the American causes of immigration reform, education reform, English preservation, and sovereignty reform. Foster's campaign can energize the Reform Party and may even shock the 32nd District. When Buchanan received just under 500,000 votes nationwide in last November's Presidential election, most political observers declared that the Reform Party was finished. However, with a special election to be held in the 32nd District, the Reform Party's heart continues to beat. The 32nd District, located in the Los Angeles area, had been held since 1978 by Democrat Julian Dixon, who died in December. A special election in April will determine a successor. Although the District voted overwhelmingly for Democrat Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996 with percentages as high as 81%, Foster is primed to give the Reform Party a respectable chance at what it desperately needs: a Congressional election victory. Special elections notoriously yield low turnouts. With less people voting, challenging parties such as the Reform Party, possess better odds at putting up a respectable fight. Moreover, without an incumbent in the race, a highly publicized Foster campaign can spark enthusiasm across party lines thus creating a three-way race. That is exactly what Foster plans to do. With the entire party behind her, including the support of party figurehead Buchanan, Foster intends to become the first Reform Party member elected to Congress. By providing Americans with a true conservative alternative to the wishy-washy Republican Party, a Foster victory would literally spark an American revolution. It would usher in a new era of "Reform." People may quickly conclude that Foster and the Reform Party have "zero chance" in the "safely Democratic" 32nd District. However, Foster, an American who happens to be both black and female, could strip myriads of disenchanted minority voters from the Democratic base while simultaneously neutering the Republicans simply by preaching America First issues. Moreover, when Foster begins stressing to the black community, which makes up over 40% of the district, exactly how illegal immigration and global "free trade" systematically destroys hard-working families, the 80% Democratic base will quickly begin to peel away. With no Republican candidate offering a similar nationalist message in the 32nd, Foster gets the "wild card" advantage. She adds a new dynamic to a district which had been in the grip of Dixon for over two decades. Unlike the Republicans and Democrats, the Reform Party's Foster understands the idea that it is both righteous and just to give higher priority to one's own country over foreign powers. Nations are like families. To illustrate by analogy, if someone's family members were desperately starving for food while other families also starved, then would it be righteous to feed another family before one's own? No! People are responsible for the protection, aid, and comfort of their own families. Without first assisting one's own family, it becomes impossible to assist other families. Similarly, the U.S., as a nation, must first protect her own people before she can bless other nations. This idea, rejected by both the Republican and Democratic Parties, can resonate in the 32nd District. Foster is ready to unleash this nationalist tide, which has been constantly repudiated by establishment politics, yet silently held dear by so many other mainstream Americans. Foster will seek to tap into this sentiment. According to former Los Angeles Chief of Police Daryl Gates, Ezola Foster "...is one of those that if her philosophy and thinking were adopted in the black community, she has enough power to cause a greater revolution among blacks than Martin Luther King." With hope springing eternal, the Reform Party is extremely fortunate to have an advocate in the form of Ezola Foster. So is the 32nd District. Reed R. Heustis, Jr. <>< Editor, The heUStis Update! February 21, 2001 ------ REPORT: EZOLA FOSTER FUNDRAISER - FEBRUARY 24, 2001 Politics/Elections Miscellaneous Keywords: EZOLA FOSTER FUNDRAISING FUN (WITH FREEPERS!) Source: Mercuria Eyewitness News Author: Mercuria - Roving Reporterette Posted on 02/25/2001 15:07:18 PST by Mercuria The splendid Rancho Palos Verdes home of our hosts, the Felandos, overlooks the ocean, and on a clear day, I was told you can see Catalina Island. On a rainy Saturday, however, the atmosphere is more reminiscent of Du Maurier than of California Dreamin', but still moodily beautiful. Because of the inclement weather, the fundraiser was moved indoors, where our gracious hostess Darlene and a battery of assistants were busy at work preparing a really lovely buffet luncheon for the guests. Brian, a very nice young gentleman who defined himself as one of the "Old Guard" of the California Reform Party. (This made me and gc4nra laugh - I'm old enough to be the young gentleman's - umm - babysitter, after all, and I don't consider myself an "Old Guard" of anything. I'm turning 29 myself soon for the I-lose-track-of-how-manyeth time...but I digress.) Brian's brother was also in attendance, as well as Robert, who drove all the way up from San Diego, and Steve, and Kitty, and many other people whose names escape me. (I did say I was turning 29, didn't I?) All in all, there were about 65 people, I would say, who braved the weather and the notoriously bad California traffic in rain to show their support for the Reform Party candidate of the 32nd Congressional District of California. While waiting for her to make her entrance, I was ever-so-pleased to see Julie Grindas once again, along with her husband John - they are very dedicated to the promotion of the Fosterite-style Reform Party, and a very friendly and outgoing couple! I was also privileged to meet Shawn Foster (Chuck's daughter!) and her friend Karen - terrific ladies who good-naturedly allowed me to ply them with my S.A.S. business cards. As the luncheon was served, a young man entered, announcing, "Ladies and gentlemen, the next Congresswoman of the 32nd Congressional District of California - Ezola Foster!" Ezola and Chuck Foster entered amidst enthusiastic applause. Both of them looked sharp, as they always do, and there were plenty of hugs given by the warm-hearted and genial Ezola. She is such a friendly and unpretentious lady, and very expressive of her appreciation of her supporters. As Ezola had a cup of coffee and greeted everyone, Chuck, his daughter, and his daughter's friend sat with gc4nra and me as we had lunch. Chuck's high spirits and sense of fun were mirrored in his daughter, and we all laughed at both of their sallies over the dangers of MSG in Chinese food, among other things. It was a joy for me to see abigail2 in attendance shortly after the Fosters' arrival, and she brought her friend Dolores, who wore a leopard beret to die for. (I must find out where she got it - such a beret would match my best coat, but I'll refrain from fashion references a la Mr. Blackwell.) When everyone had had their fill of lunch, Ezola got up to speak before the gathering, thanking everyone for attending and stating her pride in the members of the Reform Party. She talked about her history as an "equal opportunity party member" - for 17 years she was a Democrat, and for 19 years she was a Republican. She had joined the Reform Party primarily because of her good friend, Pat Buchanan, but afterwards she stayed because of the people within the party. "There are still people who think that the Reform Party should be the 'Party of Perot', but it should have less to do with personalities than with identifying with the goal of putting America first," pronounced Ezola. "I am a believer in God, and I am a true believer in the notion of the Psalm 'Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen for His inheritance'. "I have atheist friends, yet I tell them to look at the attacks and the threats and the wars within our nation, yet we are still surviving and still strong, and I say this is evidence that there is a God." On her strong belief in and support of the Constitution: "Congress has moved away from the Constitution, and it will be a bleak future for us unless we change this." On sovereignty: "For many years, not just the past eight, people have tried to condemn me for my association with the John Birch Society. There are two elite organizations in America that have influence on public policy - the John Birch Society and the Council on Foreign Relations. The John Birch Society is a completely open organization, with public, open meetings. Anyone can become a member. A fact-finding committee investigated them and gave them a clean bill, but they are still given a bad reputation. Its primary goal is maintaining sovereignty in our nation. "The Council on Foreign Relations is secretive. You can't be a member unless a member has sponsored you. They have closed meetings - and they have members from both major parties. They support the idea that America must give up its sovereignty in order to be governed by a world body. During the campaign, Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman were never asked about their membership on the Council on Foreign Relations, but I was always asked about my membership with the John Birch Society!...We need to renew our fighting spirit, and not let [the sell-out of our sovereignty] happen! "I was at a press conference during last year's campaign, where there was wall-to- wall media. Afterwards, a few of them lingered behind when most of the media had left, and they came up to me with this question: 'Mrs. Foster, what is sovereignty?' [Gads!! They really are the "lamestream media"!!] Probably most of them went to government schools, which might explain why they didn't know what it meant!" On education: "Thirty-three years ago, I went into the schools as a teacher, and back then, they were beginning to teach something known as 'values clarification'...bringing in psychologists and psychiatrists to twist the minds of our children...We have problems in our schools, and the government's answer is to just put more money into them? "The Republican platform, before the nomination of George W. Bush, had as one of its planks the goal of getting rid of the Department of Education and the influence of the NEA, but that was taken out. One of the problems is the influence of foreigners dictating the programs of our schools - the United Nations and other such organizations have a lot of influence in our school. I've seen it, and I know the damage it has done. Children are not taught to read... "We don't need national testing of our students. Parents can test children themselves to see the 'results' of our public school system. Just ask your child, 'I'm buying a $200 suit and there's a 25% discount on it - how much will I pay for the suit?' Or, 'Tell me what the TV Guide says about this program, I'm having trouble understanding it.'... "We have good teachers, but they are being trained that the only thing thing that is important is that the child feels good. They can't tell them when they make mistakes...We used to have individual desks for children, and they were encouraged to figure out their mistakes and problems for themselves, with help from the teacher. Now there are tables with six to eight students, and they are encouraged to help each other out. Our schools are being turned into communes, teaching our children to be dependent on others rather than on themselves. "We need to give the schools back to the parents and to local governments, and get the federal government out of the schools. Is it any wonder that home- schooled children have the highest scores when it comes to testing? Parents should be given control of their children's education. "An educated people is a free people, but ignorant and free cannot be. Our children are not being told how our country is governed and run. I spoke with a former student in my school who was buying his first home. I asked him if he knew about inheritance tax, property tax, and other taxes he would be paying as a homeowner. I told him, 'Government will get most of the money, and after your death, you'll still be taxed. You need to get involved in government and have a say in what's happening!' But my former student said, 'I can't get involved - I don't have the time, I'm working two jobs!'...Our generation of young people are being taught to believe that government will take care of us!" On immigration and sovereignty: "Any country that cannot control its borders cannot protect its people...On Terry Anderson's show, Nate Holden was a guest. Terry asked him a simple question: 'What is your position on immigration?' Mr. Holden's answer? 'I'm a councilman, and immigration is a federal matter!' [Apparently Mr. Holden forgot that he is running for Congressman - a position in the federal government? Ahem!] When Mr. Holden was told that Ezola Foster was also in the studio, he was very surprised - 'I didn't know this would be a debate!' He was asked to stay, but he refused, saying he had 'other engagements'. "America takes in more people legally than all the other countries put together. Since 1965, most of our immigrants have come from third-world countries. If we took in one-third of the world's population, we wouldn't be able to handle it. Many people want to excuse illegal immigration by stating that they 'take jobs that others don't want'. That's a load of baloney! [At this point, a member of the audience mentioned that farmers are very much in favor of illegal immigration, since a glut of blue-collar labor workers will compete with each other to drive the under-the-table wage down. My opinion: if the farmers want to take this up with anyone, they should get on the Democrats' case for driving up the minimum wage and arrogantly stating that "hamburger-flipper jobs" and labor work are beneath the dignity of Americans!] "Our public schools don't want illegal immigrant children to be legal citizens, either. I had a conversation in a government night class, where there were about 30 illegal immigrant students, and all of them wanted to be citizens. In working with Hayakawa and the INS, we managed to get paperwork and instructions for these students to become citizens, and the school barred me because of that! "We can't look to this President to solve this problem. We have a drug problem here, 70% of which come across the Mexican border, and is it any surprise, thanks to NAFTA? Our trucks are regulated and inspected, and the Mexican trucks are not! Sure, there is a law about Mexican trucks only going so far across the border, but what police force do we have that are going to take the time to stop trucks and say, 'Hey, you've gone two miles over the limit!' On her Congressional campaign: "Diane Watson will probably be the Democrat contender in the 32nd District - I remember when Reverend Jesse Peterson and I were in Sacramento a while ago to speak of problems within the inner cities, and Jesse Peterson got up in Diane Watson's face and told her 'You're the problem!' "Proposition 187, in 1994, passed in both Nate Holden's and Mark Ridley Thomas' districts, so we have a chance if these issues are addressed!" Mrs. Foster also passed along greetings from Pat Buchanan, whose health is much improved and who is currently writing a book. After Mrs. Foster's speech, photos were taken (o capricious technology! I curse my digital camera!) and I was truly surprised and delighted to meet FReeper heustis, whom I have not seen on this board for many a moon! (Of course, as soon as I found out he was a FReeper, I gave him a hug. I miss him!) Julie Grindas, as Treasurer of Mrs. Foster's campaign, collected donations and discussed with me the necessity of volunteers for distributing yard signs. She was very happy to hear that I knew of some people who actually lived in the district who appreciated Ezola and her goals, and hoped I would pass the message along. I assured her I would. All in all, it was a delightful afternoon, despite the rain. Mrs. Foster was so kind to provide the sunshine! http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3a9990260985.htm ----------- end ---------- *COPYRIGHT NOTICE** In accordance with Title 17 U. S. C.
