But of course he is. And he will get away with it, because there's no one
who can take him to task. Remember when he said it would be easier to do
what he wanted if he were a dictator? Well he practically is. He has
Congress and the Supreme Court who will do whatever he or his guide, Cheney,
say, and he has the loving, friendly (occasionally mildly apologetic) media
who will put the best face on any situation he cooks up or any lies he tells
us. Since the Bush family has never been a friend of the environment, and
since the Republican Party is also not a friend of the environment, what is
the big surprise here? No there isn't an energy crisis. There is a
financial crisis for the poor consumers who really need to drive to work and
who really need to pay their utility and home heating bills. The big boys
can pump up an energy crisis at the drop of a hat. It's like mom deciding
not to shop or cook anymore and declaring a food shortage. Come on. Prudy
