CONDIT INQUIRY
A young woman disappears from a Washington D.C. apartment. Her
personal possessions - cash, credit cards, clothing, are intact. There is
no sign of forced entry into her apartment or of a struggle. The national
press is calling the disappearance of Chandra Levy "bizarre" and is
treating it only as a missing persons case, even though the young woman has
not been seen since April 30th ! News Max and the Modesto Bee have
reported that the FBI - the Rambo, whitewash cops - have joined the case.
Chandra's parents live in Modesto, California. Evidently they
felt that the police and the press were not doing enough to publicize the
disappearance of their daughter. In order to focus attention on the matter
they traveled to Washington, D.C. This did get national attention, and
before the press could be muzzled reports linked Chandra romantically to
53-year-old conservative Democrat Gary Condit, who represents her home
district. The California congressman has repeatedly called for an end to
speculation that he was having an affair with Levy. Saturday's New York
Post says Condit has been "stonewalling authorities." On Friday,
Washington Metropolitan Police attempted to clarify a comment by Assistant
Police Chief Ronald Monroe, who had told the Washington Post that Levy had
visited Condit's Washington apartment "more than a couple of times." The
police called the report a rumor, but evidently it is more than a
rumor. In a Dec. 23 e-mail obtained and reported on by the Modesto Bee,
Chandra Levy wrote, "Everything else here in D.C. is going good. My man
will be coming back here when Congress starts up again." The e-mail goes
on to suggest that Levy had falsely described her boyfriend as an FBI agent
in an attempt to hide his true identity from friends.
Ms Levy's disappearance has all the earmarks of a professional
hit. She has vanished without a trace; chances are that she will never be
seen again, and no body will ever be found. The Modesto Bee is to be
complimented for running the story, but in their follow up they are trying
to tell us what to think. A headline says that people still have
confidence in Condit! This is the man who helped to keep Bill Clinton in
office, and now the public is seeing evidence of Clinton-like
behavior. Some believe that the last time Condit ran the election was
rigged, and we know for certain his opponent, Steve Wilson, was subjected
to two raids by armed government thugs. If Condit runs again enough people
now know about the Levy case so that when he campaigns we would expect to
see signs in the crowd that read, "Where's Chandra?"
