The missing 24-year-old intern also told a close relative that she was romantically involved with U.S. Rep. Gary Condit, 53, a married father of two grown children, The Washington Post reported this morning. Condit, who has told House members there was "no sexual relationship" with the missing intern, could not be reached for comment about the report. But Mike Lynch, chief of staff in Condit's Modesto, Calif., office, said the congressman insisted he had not made statements to police about Levy spending the night. <PICTURE>Chandra Levy with Rep. Gary Condit (D.-Calif.) "We have nothing to hide" about Condit's relationship with Levy, Mike Dayton, a spokesman at the congressman's office on Capitol Hill, told The Post. A Levy relative, who asked not to be identified, said, "Chandra has told me things that seem to contradict what the spokesmen for Congressman Condit have been saying." The relative said Levy spent last Thanksgiving and Passover with Condit. Police are still treating the disappearance of Levy, who vanished April 30, as a missing-person case. And police brass repeatedly have said Condit is not a suspect. Condit, who represents Levy's hometown of Modesto, said he and the missing woman were simply friends. But in recent weeks cops have combed Condit's Adams-Morgan neighborhood looking for clues to Levy's whereabouts. Investigators also have grilled dozens of Levy's friends and acquaintances, including members of her health club in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Condit called cops about her disappearance on May 7, a day after her parents called his office seeking help. The congressman subsequently offered a $10,000 reward. The reward fund has since grown to $40,000.
