Well, I'm gonna have to admit that I have come around (in part, thanks to
you, Steve:). I mean, ANY ONE that tries to argue that store-bought meat
(as opposed to wild UNADULTERATED, un-chemically treated, or polluted meat)
is NOT bad for us, well...ppl like that are either ignorant, stupid, or
lying (or on drugs;-)
Do I still eat meat?
Saddly, yes:-( But I HAVE cut down DRAMATICALLY (i..e., 1 or
2 times a week, as compared to EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE through 11 years of
college, AND BEYOND).
If I were younger, and not so attached to it, or if I had young children to
raise again (i.e., setting a nonhypocritical/good example for them), I
WOULD NOT!
Would I eat it if I had to hunt and slaughter it (even tho wild kill might
be nonpolluted, and even a WONDERFUL source of protien that our species has
evolved eating for UMPTEEN GAZILLION YEARS (as is demonstrated by such
things as our ability to digest it with no problems, our canine teeth,
etc.)??
NO! Not unless my family (or I) was starving!
Is it cruel and barbaric?
Anyone that claims to not know the answer to this has never seen
what conditions these poor animals live and die in.
Am I a hypocrite?

P.S. Btw, there is a new type beef, and practices in raising it, that is
coming out of Japan (only one breeder in the USA as of a few months ago)
that is TOTALLY kind to the animals. EACH ANIMAL IN THEIR *FIELDS* ARE
TREATED AS AN INDIVIDUAL. Each one is LITERALLY treated a UNIQUE, i.e.,
each has a unique diet, unique care needs, etc (I saw this on CNN's
"Business Unusaal" last sunday). All of these cows and bulls have
virtually ALREADY died and gone to cow heaven! I mean, these animals QUITE
LITERALLY could not be any happier! If all beef were raised like this
(happy, totally organic, treated as well or BETTER than any pet I have ever
seen), would I dis any one that ate it?
NO! But then, I don't dis meat eaters now;-)
And, Steve...am I mad at you for being a kill-joy (i.e., making me feel
guilty for eating meat)??
Hell no! You've done me (and most probably many others that have been
reading your stuff for years) a favor!
