Crane Reveals Clinton Cabinet Lesbian Affair
Congressman Phil Crane, the powerful head of the House Ways and Means
Committee, recently blurted out that two Clinton Cabinet members had a
lesbian affair.
Speaking to a meeting of Illinois' congressional delegation - which
included Democrats, Republicans and Speaker Dennis Hastert - Crane
reportedly "named names" and engaged in a "monologue" on the subject
before an embarrassed Hastert convinced Crane to stop.
Crane is a longtime conservative who ran for president in 1980. Last
year he took a leave from the House to dry out from alcohol abuse.
The New York Post reported that Attorney General Janet Reno and Donna
Shalala, former HHS secretary, will bear the brunt of the rumors. Reno
said before leaving office she planned on taking a vacation with
Shalala.
Reno said the pair planned to drive a pickup truck across America - an
apparent reference to the lesbian-themed movie "Thelma & Louise."
As it turned out Reno never took the trip. But Shalala did move near
Reno to Miami, where she took the post of president of Miami University.
