-Caveat Lector- ------------------------------- Dear Dan Herbeck, Lou Michel, & The Buffalo News, My name is Robert Sterling, and I am the editor of The Konformist (konformist.com) and contributing editor to Disinformation (disinfo.com). As such, I am pretty well known in the conspiracy theory world of the Internet. I am writing to you all with what I think is a reasonable and simple request. Since you and your news publication have received much attention thanks to your claims of a confession by McVeigh on both audiotape and letter, I would actually like to see a copy of the letter itself and hear a copy of the tape. Maybe I am missing something, but though I have read your description of McVeigh's alleged last letter to you and your description of his supposed confession on tape, I haven't found either anywhere. I am perplexed why such stunning information has not been released to the public, that you have chosen instead to quote from each yourselves without releasing the original material. I am further perplexed by the fact that no major media outlets have requested this information themselves. Indeed, there should have been a bidding war for such a bonanza, and the frenzy should have peaked last week over this material. Yet there has been no bidding war that I know of, and by allowing McVeigh to be executed before the material's release, you have shown bad business judgement. Some people would look at all this, and assume the reason that the evidence hasn't been released to the public (a normal procedure) is because it doesn't exist. That would mean both of you and your organization are engaging in a fraud. The reasons for such a fraud could be either monetary compensation by creating a journalistic fraud, or, more likely, that you are on a government payroll, and your deceitful coverage is merely propaganda to hide what was really behind the Oklahoma City Bombing. (After all, most OK Bomb conspiracy theories contend that McVeigh was an unwitting patsy.) Of course, such thinking would be quack conspiracy theory. Which would be very easy for you to dismiss: all you'd have to do is release the letters and tapes with McVeigh's confessions to the public. Which, frankly, you should have done quite a long time ago. I am waiting for you to dismiss these outrageous charges.
