And how many ex-teenyboppers have autographed pictures of Frank
Sinatra or Elvis or Paul McCartney or David Cassidy or George Michael?
It doesn't mean that they ever actually MET these celebrities, it just
means they either joined a fan club or wrote a letter to the celebrity.
SOP is to have someone on the clerical staff handle this type of mail,
and SOP is to send a canned letter back thanking the fan for writing and
including an 'autographed' picture.
I could write to the White House today and ask for an autographed picture
of Bush, and I'd get one; would you then accept that as 'proof' that I
was a close friend of the Bush family?

Yes, it is a list that discusses theory...that does not mean that people
claiming certain credentials aren't expected to provide some sort of
proof for their claims.
