-Caveat Lector- Settlers destroy Palestinian owned olive trees and kill sheep Tulkarem - July 3, 2001 (IAP News) On Tuesday, Jews from the illegal settlement of Avni Hefets burned large tracts of Palestinian land containing tens of olive trees belonging to the Palestinian village of Shofa, which is near the settlement. Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupying forces prevented the Palestinian fire engines and the Palestinian landowners from reaching their lands in order to put the fire out. Additionally, the so called Jewish "Guarding in Charge" of the illegal settlement of Kfar Adomim used automatic weapons to shoot at Palestinian owned herds of sheep, killing twenty of the sheep and injuring numerous others. This type of aggression against the Palestinian people routinely takes places on an almost daily basis by fanatic settlers who are protected by Israeli armed forces. Palestinians who try to defend themselves are either shot at, arrested or severely beaten by the occupation forces.
