I'd like to give you all some background info regarding Reverend Thomas's
claim.
This story of a white politician seducing the black preacher's daughter,
and she turns up pregnant with a mixed race child, should be familiar to
most of you, if you've read the novel _Primary Colors_, first published in
1996. It's an exact, but fictionalized, rendition of what happened,
attributed in the novel to the fictional Clinton character, Jack Stanton.
Now known to have been written by Joe Klein, the novel Primary Colors
lists thinly veiled incidents actually committed by DC politicians. Its best
seller status was because those in-the-know wanted to have fun identifying
the disguised real stories.
Rev. Thomas's daughter had her dalliance with Condit seven years
ago--1994-5--precisely when Joe Klein was writing this book, just as if the
buzz was covertly going around Washington insiders about the white poll who
had seduced the black preacher's daughter. Lotsa amusement here.
Rev. Thomas told the Levys of this incident way, way, WAY before the
story broke. In addition, Attorney Billy Martin and the Levys are aware of
the Primary Colors/Joe Klein connection--that's why--despite Rev. Thomas's
denial--they continue to be convinced that the story is true.
