An Australian cameraman and a British photographer were arrested after covering a protest by Greenpeace members in Los Angeles on July 14. The independent journalists, Nick Clyde, a videographer, and Steve Morgan, a photographer are held pending a trial that could slap them with 10 years in prison for "conspiring to violate a safety zone and violating an order," according to a written statement from Reporters Without Borders. Clyde and Morgan covered a protest against the United States' anti-missile test. The Reporters Without Borders, a world wide advocate organization for press freedom, wrote to Attorney General John Aschroft to request an explanation for the arrest of the journalists.
