the rise of the Nation of Islam, like the rise of all movements of identity
in the 60's is what killed the coherent left in America.
here on a conspiracy list of all places it should be clear. Nothing, and I
do mean nothing, was more instrumental in KILLING the civil rights movement
than the engineered split between American Black and American Jewish
culture. As with all things ask yourself "who benefits"
before there were direct links between these 2 communities. WW2 wasn't so
far in the past that the Jewish American community had forgotten what it was
like to be the oppressed minority, the "niggers" of a place, and hadn't
started the slide to the republican right that money often brings about. In
Black communities, especially via the Baptist church, the parallels between
a)the biblical Jews being taken into slavery and their dispersal around the
world, and b) the Blacks forcible removal to America, was explicitly
understood, and used as a metaphor throughout the Black community.
It was this vital link between these 2 minority cultures, standing together,
that gave much of the strength to the civil rights movement in the 60's.
White Christian America could do no better to protect the status quo from
this liberalization than to have these 2 communities torn apart and
distrusting each other, and no one did that better than the Nation of Islam
and its vitriolic rhetoric.
