Joined the Group in 1987 as Deputy Managing Director of Toyota (GB), becoming Chief Executive in April 1993 and Chief Executive of Inchcape Toyota Division in 1995. He joined the Inchcape Board in January 1998 and resigned his executive role with Toyota (GB) to become a non-executive Director. He was previously with Ford Motor Company and the Rover Group.
