I did once, at work. I was trying to get to a specific SEC site, and
made the mistake of using the dot-com suffix instead of dot-gov...and up
popped a porno site. I thought it rather droll that the porno people had
usurped what is a rather esoteric SEC subsite (only of interest to
businesses that have to report insider trading, and wish to do so
electronically)...they had to have figured out that many people make the
same mistake I had done, using the common 'com' ending instead of
'gov'...
But how many actual 'viewers' do they actually attract that way? Seems
to me that the majority of people who mistakenly bring up that site when
in fact they are looking for the SEC's EDGAR filing site will do the same
thing I did -- say "Oh, fudge!" and type in the correct URL, and never go
back to the porn site...
