Airlines have been very lax with security on the planes. Frequently the doors
to the pilot cabin are open. Even when closed the doors are flimsy and can
probably be broken relatively easily.
Why are the doors not always locked? And why are pilots not armed? They
could at least have pepper spray or some other disabling agent.
This will no doubt change in the near future, but airlines bear some degree of
responsibility for this trajedy.
