More than the twin towers, other buildings were destroyed or are at

The Associated Press
NEW YORK (AP) The attention has been on the destruction of the
gleaming twin towers of the World Trade Center destroyed in
Tuesday's terrorist attack.
But the World Trade Center is a complex of seven buildings, and
near it are other major buildings in the dense Financial District
of lower Manhattan.

When the towers were destroyed Tuesday, the Marriott World Trade
Center hotel fell with them. A fourth building, the 45-story
structure known as 7 World Trade Center, also collapsed.

On Wednesday, as reporters were allowed to tour the area, it became
clear other buildings were at risk.

The World Financial Center, across the street, is heavily damaged.
The Hilton's luxury Millennium hotel is still standing, but with 75
less windows.

Reports trickled in Wednesday about other destruction around the
World Trade Center.

With concentration focused on removing bodies and searching for
survivors, it was difficult to confirm how many other buildings had
been lost, but the heaviest losses seemed to be in the trade
center's immediate area.

Destroyed:

Both World Trade Center towers.

The 45-story structure known as 7 World Trade Center.

Marriott World Trade Center hotel.

Severely damaged:

One Liberty Plaza on Liberty Street.

World Financial Center on West Street.

The 90 West on West Street, office building erected in 1907,
designed by famed downtown architect Cass Gilbert.

Building on West Street that housed a phone company.

Moderate damage:

Hilton Millennium on Church Street, 75 broken windows.

Storefronts and street-level offices along Broadway and West
Street, widespread shattering of windows and glass.
