and absolute economic meltdown.
And I never said it would not be a very grim situation should such things
occur. I would say that the likelihood of it is quite small...but it does
fall within the realm of possibility if not probability. Therefore we have
to address it as one of a number of possible outcomes. Nonetheless, I can
also assure you that whatever else might transpire as a result, such an act
would spell the absolute END of the entire Arab world. The Western nations,
for right or wrong, better or worse, would obliterate them completely and
finally.

Your defeatist mentality is overwhelming. Aren't you overlooking the
strength and resolve of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming
tragedy? We've seen nations come to the brink of Armageddon before, pounded
into dust and smoking rubble. And always they have rebuilt. I'm not saying
such a thing wouldn't be devastating. And I'm not saying it wouldn't take
years to recover. But it would only destroy Western Civilization if WE
allowed it to. The nuclear destruction alone would not be sufficient. It
would have to come from the destruction and resignation of the human spirit.
