Hi All,

I have been thinking. A sudden revelation hit me a few days ago about why
George Bush Jr. has such trouble communicating - falling all over his words,
using the wrong words, etc. I think it is because there is a dysjunct between
what he says and what he really believes. When what we say is authentic
there is usually a natural flow. George Bush jerks around, his eyes searching
for reaction and approval. If he gets a bit of approval, he is energized, and
gets excited, and tries to say more, still falling over his words, searching
awkwardly for sentence endings, stumbling all over.

When we don't tell the truth, we are tense - and we have to be very careful
what we are saying because we might trip and let slip the real truth. A further
complication is that Bush has to either read his speeches, or he has to
memorize statements. If you notice, he often accents the wrong words, as
though he doesn't really get the meaning or significance.

We are dealing with a chronic and inveterate liar in George Bush, as his
father and mother before him. It is very important to know we are being
manipulated. George Bush is not a legitimate president, and if someone
wants to maintain that he is a legal president, there is no way to claim him a
morally legitimate president.

This means his whole presidency is a lie. This means we are going to be lied
to - a lot. This means we must be alert. Already we are seeing signs that
information is being manipulated and distorted, events denied. The latest is
that they are saying Bin Laden has made a profit on the bombings because
he has insurance stock. Is this true? I don't know - but I wonder if George
Bush also has insurance stock?

Remember that George Bush is a man who believes that other countries
"out there" are evil. His knowledge of history and politics is abysmal, and he
functions on a giant degree of ignorance and prejudice. No wonder he, like
his father, can so easily "go after" them, and declare war so casually. In his
mind these are not really human beings.

Some of the questionable information floating around:

1) That the terrorists were after Air Force One. Seems it would have been
almost impossible because of physical ground logistics, and even more
impossible in the air. The terrorists were not practiced pilots, while the pilots
of Air Force One are top of the line. This story was supposedly concocted to
cover for why Bush didn't show up and was running scared instead of
standing bravely to lead.

2) Bin Laden has been labeled as the brain and funding behind this act, but
there is no proof yet, and those in the area say he isn't. Bin Laden himself
says he isn't.

3) Bush lied about so many things before becoming president, such as his
military experience ( he was taken off his plane because of his drug
problems, and should have been courtmartialed for not showing up much
after that.) Anyone else would have been. His drug problems, his drinking,
and so many other things have been hinted at. When these stores started to
come out, a furor was mounted against those who revealed the information
instead of holding Bush responsible.

As my son says, it's not that we *don't* know, it's that we *won't* know. We
don't want to know, and so we go into denial, and then become very hostile to
truth tellers.

So now, what we do. We need to be alert to the brainwashing we will be
subject to. How do we recognize it? Watch for catch phrases - phrases,
ideas, words, being repeated over and over. Some we've already seen:
"America Under Attack", which has changed now to, "America at War",
"America's New War" (ominous - sounds as though wars are to be expected
like fashions, exchanging one for another with the seasons.) And then there
is "The First War of the Twenty First Century", again with the suggestion of
further wars to be expected, as though war were a normal and healthy
phenomenon - an idea which is itself a form of brainwashing.

The same music being played and replayed on TV. Notice how much
patriotic music is being played now, and religious music.

In connection with the war against Iraq the catch phrase is "weapons of mass
destruction".a phrase designed to scare the living daylights out of us as we
envision Armageddon and the end of everything, and make us willing to go
along with anything to avoid such a fate. Of course, what is neatly ignored is
that the United States is the world's #1 maker of *weapons of mass
destruction*, sold them to Iraq and just about every other country (hey - profits
are sweet - the heck with what is done with the weapons.) We also supplied
them to various countries because we supported their attacks against other
nations. Bin Laden was trained by us, as were these latest terrorists.

Watch for "off" pronunciation. An example from IRAQ - "Sodom" Hussein -
with the clear connection to Sodom and Gomorrah. Another is the fairly
recent way the Right has started referring to the Republican Agenda, and the
Democrat agenda. Suddenly they don't want to say "Democratic" Party -it's
become "The Democrat Party".

Repeating "Osama Bin Laden is the one who did this" - without proof.
Repetition is powerful - repeat something enough and the brain begins to
believe it. An idea starts to feel familiar and comfortable. Maybe he did it, but
we had him tarred and feathered before we have definitive proof.

Watch the use of religion - Neptune on the MC of Bush's Inauguration.
Religion makes us feel as though God is on our side - and we are the good
one. Further it makes us feel we have a religious mission - and only "bad" or
"evil" people would fail to respond to a supposed call from God. The ""other"
is demonized, becomes "the devil".

Watch for a repetition of ghastly images, especially if accompanied by catch
phrases. Try not to watch too much, as we begin to become numb after a
while, and our brains begin to believe what we hear repeatedly. We are
being hypnotized. We are being brainwashed so we will follow Bush and
co's agenda unquestioningly.

Don't just read or watch mainstream TV, radio, and/or magazines and
newspapers. Pay attention to some of the alternate sources. Some media
are not so beholden to the big corporations, and so aren't as scared to reveal
the truth, o at least a different perspective.

Watch out for seductive ideas designed to make us feel happy, secure, and
"good". For instance, the suggestions that we must "stand as one", "support
our president", "rally together", "make sacrifices".

Watch what is happening and try to interpret yourself. For instance, do we
really believe that "all Europe" is backing us? We now know they aren't - but
watch how often the media will still proclaim it. Recognize that the
government and media are going to slant the news in favour of their policies.

Where is Dick Cheney? Why haven't we heard boo from him all week - at
such a crucial time in US History? Not a word of comfort or consolation. Has
he been sick perhaps? He showed up for a brief interview on Sunday
morning, but not in any TV studio. Why the secrecy and absence?

Be practical about what you hear - don't just accept the media interpretation.
How would 5 years or more of constant war, "a long, sustained military
campaign", actually affect us?. "The course of victory will be long". Why? Why
is anyone so willing to accept such a (sub) standard of life? And why is this
acceptable when the current procedures for getting terrorists have not
worked in the past? What is really going on here? Could it be that war suits
George Bush just fine? We all know that a war ups a president's ratings
enormously. Could that have something to do with this? Is this war designed
to save Bush's second term where before his presidency was going down
the drain? These ideas seem so outlandish and far-fetched that we think they
must be paranoid, but keep in mind that the government DID know about
Pearl Harbour ahead of time and let it proceed because it provided the
impetus, in a very divided country, to push people over the edge to approve
of the US entry into WW2.

What happened to Bush's loudly vaunted education plans? Did anyone notice
how he quickly he junked that, claiming that his only priority now was war?

He has effectively dumped everything, children, the elderly, health care, social
security - to be plundered for his war - jobs, education. Heck - the country
can go to hell so George Bush can go kill - which is what we were afraid he
would do before he took office. Remember this is the man who blew up frogs,
who vaunted the death penalty, who supported the gun lobby, etc. remember
this is the man who a number of us said would have us quickly in a state of
war.

We need to pay attention when what we are told doesn't seem to jibe with
what we thought we saw. Ask questions - and don't just accept everything
passed on by the media.

Pay attention to our health. David Letterman was in tears on camera, as was
Dan Rather. This event is a shock, and that will have an effect on the body as
well as the psyche. Get your sleep, eat properly. I was at the supermarket
tonight, and found I had filled my cart with donuts, cakes, candy. I made
myself put most of it back. We need protein, we need vegetables. We don't
need sugar. People may find themselves drinking more - alcohol, coffee,
whatever. Not a good idea. In a time when we are feeling emotionally
vulnerable, we need to support our body's immune system.

Anxiety will affect family life. Children may regress, may start wetting the bed
again, clinging. They may want to sleep with their parents - let them. They
may not want to go to school. My dentists's daughter asked him if her school
might collapse, or his dental office.

People's sex drives may go down. Partners may become irritated and cranky
with each other. Child abuse and spousal abuse may increase. Many are
going to feel depressed to some degree, and so we may see all the
symptoms of depression: withdrawal, distancing, exhaustion, lack of energy,
lack of enthusiasm, numbness, hopelessness, lack of joy. Lawns may not be
mown. People may not go to movies as much, or to the zoo, concerts, even
out to dinner. I have heard of a number of people who didn't leave the house
for several days. My realtor told me she has lost several sales - people feel
insecure and so backed out.

The shock we have experienced may manifest as fear and anger, and we
might be surprised to find ourselves more out of control and less patient than
usual. We may also become hypervigilant - after all, our subconscious has
been alerted, and is afraid this can happen again. Our senses will be alert:
noises may irritate more, a messy room may cause us to lbecome upset,
perfume may seem too strong (attracts the enemy - like an animal to the
prey). I have found myself having to turn the TV down a bit lower than usual. A
lot of voices sound grating to me - especially the bubbly, cheery ones. I can
only tolerate gentle voices at the moment.

That hypervigilance may well be permanent. We have been traumatized, and
this experience has made itself indelible in our brains and in our tissues. This
is one reason I suggest not watching the constant repeats on TV of the
planes, for instance, hitting the towers. Each time we see it it becomes more
embedded - like being hit, then hit again, and hit again.

We will never be the same. This is a wound. We may heal eventually, but we
will bear the scar. One reason I am so distressed that George Bush wants to
launch us into a full-scale war is because that will deepen the wound, and
create new ones. We will see chronic depression developing, and all the
problems I mentioned above will be exacerbated, and healing time will be put
on hold. We cannot heal as long as the hitting continues. George Bush's plan
will delay healing and deepen the wounds and all the social and
psychological problems.

The confusion and betrayal is also part of the shock, as is the awareness so
many of us have that we can't trust our government. We have been lied to by
the spin doctors so much we hardly know what to believe any more - if
anything. Here we are trying to recover from the tragedy of this event, the lost
lives, and already we are hearing that maybe our government was in on this
act, that they had 12 minutes to warn the workers at the Pentagon to get out
before the plane hit, and didn't. We are hearing that Bush and co sure pulled
this "War on Terrorism" idea together so quickly that maybe they had it
cooked up all along. We saw Bush become president in a less-than honest
way - with even our Supreme Court betraying us. We see special laws
protecting tobacco and arms manufacturers, and others who do us harm, and
our politicians aid and abet as they are bribed to maintain these destructive
policies. And we see our politicians protected from real life by laws they
wrote themselves to assure they had health care, pensions, and all the other
necessities of life the rest of struggle for. No wonder they are in no hurry to
implement health reform - they don't need it! And now we hear tonight that the
Twin Towers imploded the way buildings do when they have been
professionally set to do so, and that men were seen in the basement before
the collapse. And then we hear that's not so. What to believe?

How do we live with all this? How do we maintain sanity in an insane and
unfair, immoral climate of events and characters?

We have to have an awful lot of courage. We have to be able to trust our
understanding when all around us are telling us we are wrong. We have to be
able to rise above the flag waving, the hymn singing, the calls to patriotism,
the requested sacrifice of our children as soldiers in an insane war we are
being brainwashed and manipulated into believing in. We have to trust the
spiritual vision within each one of us which tells us that an eye for an eye is
still blinding someone, killing in war is still murder. We do not want to be
murderers, and we must not allow ourselves to turned into murderers or even
people who approve of war.

We must believe in and talk of and model kindness, negotiation, respect for
diversity of beliefs and life goals and philosophies. We must become wiser,
deeper, more loving. If we believe in angels, call on them. If we believe in the
power of thought, project healing, project gentleness, project wisdom, project
cooperation, project the best in us.

This is time for those who meditate, to meditate. This will help calm our
anxiety and center us. If you can, go and sit outside in the grass and fresh air -
ground yourself. If you do yoga, do yoga. Do whatever it is that you do to
maintain balance and calm. Clear your system of the adrenalin which is
making us tense, rigid, poised for action and attack, and let the blood flow
back to bathe our brain cells again so we can think more clearly.

Try to get outside just yourself. Doing something helpful for someone else
can help us rebuild our confidence again. Stop in and see an elderly
neighbour who might need to talk. See if any local community agencies need
extra help at the moment.

Surround your self with beauty to give yourself hope again. maybe just one
flower - maybe a beautiful candle, maybe family photos, maybe a beautiful
piece of cloth draped on the table. Wear clothes which lift your spirits. Play
music which can help to calm you, to reorganize the disarray in your psyche
and body. Fantasize about the world you want to see - and send that energy
out into the universe to influence mass consciousness.

Most of all - send as much love out to the planet and to all our fellow human
beings as you can - remember that we are all in this together, and we can
only be protected and safe if everyone is.

Especially take care of the children.

Love,

Julienne
