In the news today, the U.S. Military said
that Air Force fighter planes had been scrambled
and were heading for New York and Washington when the
hijacked jetliners hit their targets.
The announcement said the fighters were
"12 minutes away from New York" when the second
jetliner struck the World Trade Center,
and "8 minutes away from Washington" when the
jetliner hit the Pentagon.
Fact: Our jet fighters are capable of flying at
Mach 2.5 That's more than 1,600 miles per hour.
That works out to almost 27 miles per minute.
This means the fighter planes were more than
300 miles from New York when the 2nd plane hit
the World Trade Center....and it means the fighters
were more than 200 miles from Washington when the
Pentagon was hit.
HORSE HOCKEY!!!
The airspace over the White House and the Pentagon
are "Restricted Airspace".
It is totally unbelieveable that our Air Force
couldn't get fighter planes over our nation's
Capitol in time for an intercept.
According to the government, their planes were
some 200 miles away from Washington DC and they
had more than 30 minutes warning about these
hijacked airliners.
This story ranks right up there with the one
about the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy!
