-Caveat Lector- The current right wing got in Israel sucks. But after 8 months of intifada, and several deadly explosions just before the election, Israel was gripped with the same sort of nationalist fear based patriotism that grips America right now. Added to the fear and anger that existed at election time, was a call for Muslim citizens ( yes Arabs, Muslims, Christians, etc can be citizens in Israel) were told to boycott the elections - where their vote could have kept the more moderate in power. One must wonder why the Palestinian leadership would do something that would ensure an unsympathetic government was in power. It obviously suited their purpose. -- -- -- -- -- -- - -- - -- -- - - - ----- -- --- -- - - - ---- - -- - - - -- ---- -- - -- - We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law.
