I used to think he was paranoid for being so adamant that we have as little involvment with any kind of government agency as possible. I thought he was completely over-reacting when he freaked out on my mom after he found out that she had talked with a census lady that came to our house. I used to think he was a little nutty for moving up to the mountains where no one would bother him or poke their nose in his business. After the government's actions towards its citizens following 9/11, I understand him completely. I can see them rubbing their little paws together, just thinking of all the ways they can take away our liberties and have more control over us.
