The "Money Laundering Alert" magazine's online page,

the new PATRIOT act that needs wider circulation:

"The final version of the money laundering provisions of the USA Patriot
Act signed by President Bush on October 26, in addition to expanding
requirements for financial institutions, contains several errors and
inconsistencies. The mistakes and omissions include incorrect section
numbering, reference to nonexistent sections, and a provision that calls on
Congress to terminate a nonexistent Act.

Meanwhile, when referring to Section 5318(l) of the Bank Secrecy Act, one
will need to specify which of two Sections 5318(l) is being referenced -
the one added by Section 326(a) or Section 359(c) of the Patriot Act. One
should also avoid referring to Section 5333 of the BSA, which is mentioned
several times in the Patriot Act. It does not exist.

OK, that's a start. I'm sure there are many more due to the haste of
throwing this monster together. The rumor is that almost no one had time to
read it before it became law, and that includes the error checkers,
apparently.
I would like to request that if anyone finds additional errors in the bill
as passed, forward them to me or post them to the FEAR-Talk list and I will
