Of course, they don't know for sure either way. They worry so much about smallpox and then there's the 'flu (20K annually) and TB on the rebound. For those things they don't know much for sure about, they sure do make a big deal and then for the things they DO know about, they can't even get enough vaccine for them. It must be easier to raise people's anxiety through the unknown (and possibly BS). They ahve yet to come right out and tell how many expected deaths there will be due to a smallpox epidemic. Not everyone dies; may get pox marx, but not dead. I believe the orginal way of vaccination was to get someone with the disease and then give others a little bit of exposure. I went through the real chicken pox, measles and mumps in a short period of time and I'm still mobile after 40+ years.
