No he didn't, at least not in the quote provided; that quote has him saying he saw 'A' plane hit the WTC, he does not specify which plane. The quote then goes on to say he went in to read to the children, and a few minutes later an aide whispers into his ear that a SECOND plane has hit the WTC. >From that, some people are projecting that what he claims to have watched was the FIRST plane hitting, but it doesn't in fact say that. He could -- and probably was, if he was watching anything at all on TV -- have seen the 2nd plane hitting -- it was THAT plane that was 'a plane' he saw hitting the WTC, and a few minutes later the aide confirmed it. If he was waiting to go read to a kindergarten class, it makes more sense that he took time out to look at TV because the first plane had already hit the North Tower of the WTC, and it was while he was watching this news coverage that he saw 'a plane' -- e.g., the SECOND plane -- hit; this is bolstered by the fact that the quote has him watching TV at 9 am -- the first plane had hit 15 minutes before; the second plane hit at 9:03, so it's more than a fair bet that if Bush was watching TV at 9 am, the plane he saw hitting into the WTC was the SECOND plane...it couldn't be the first plane, which had crashed at approx. 8:45... > That's such a stretch. It's more likely that he makes up anecdotes to fit > whatever situation he's in Agreed. Also, it's a proven scientific fact that the memory of a person undergoing stress/trauma is notoriously unreliable, since the brain imposes emotional reaction plus tends to combine separate events into one... Factor in a mentality like Baby Bush's, who basically thinks what he is told to think, and one quickly figures out that one should not take his reminicences of that day at face value...
