The agency, which evaluated such trials for three pesticides this year, said it would ask the National Academy of Sciences to recommend whether such research is ethical and scientifically useful....Three trials evaluated by the agency this year subjected volunteers to doses of pesticides hundreds of times greater than levels that EPA regulators had determined to be safe for the general public, according to study documents obtained by The Washington Post.
