KANDAHAR: SURPRISE ATTACK ON AMERICAN FORCES IN IRGHISAN - SEVERAL KILLED AND INJURED KANDAHAR (Special Correspondent): Since the withdrawal of the Taliban, US forces have been struck by the first Taliban guerilla operation independent of the Arab Mujahideen, which resulted in the deaths of several US soldiers and injuries of others. US soldiers disguised in Afghani dress were travelling in two vehicles accompanied by Gul Agha's men in Irghisan, which is a region between Spin Boldak and Takhta Pul. As they were travelling, the Mujahideen launched a surprise attack on this convoy and eyewitness accounts report that scores of US soldiers were killed in this operation. |
