I don't know about the rest of the Skolnick stuff posted here, but #7
(pertaining to the Bushes spending 40 million in dope money on FL
Democrats to sway the 2000 presidential election) is a bunch of CRAP.
He's obviously been reading too many bad spy novels... ; )

The younger Bush's presidency was bought & paid for way back in the
seventies (as was Bill Clinton's) -- and albeit I was informed of the
deals by "an old man" down in Florida of this in 1979, ..."regular
local yocals" were NOT the persons being paid off or coerced into
fixing the election in the year 2000.

The deals made many years ago for Bush & Clinton were MOB/CIA
deals... and I believe I've posted that to this list numerous times,
as far back as 1999 (or earlier).

The 2000 election was NOT a "fixed at the last minute" kind of thing,
and it had NOTHING to do with FL Democrats or Republicans.

People really shouldn't say (or print) things they have no true
knowledge of. This guy Skolnick will probably be sued over this crap -
- and should, in my opinion.

As for our government being complicit in the September 11th attacks,
there is no doubt in my mind that this was not at all the case.

They may have had some prior knowledge that something MIGHT happen on
that day, but I seriously doubt that they were given any more than a
moments notice of what was actually going to happen, if that, ...and
not just conjecture by some overzealous informant.

George W may have been a conniving, cocaine snorting alcoholic in his
younger years, -- and he may not be the brightest guy around, but he
would NOT allow Americans (particularly thousands of them) to be
haplessly murdered by anyone -- especially not by members of our own
government agencies.

Albeit I don't agree with everything he does, says, etc., and
certainly didn't vote for him, I can confidently say that much about
the man.

We all know that there are many things our government agencies learn
about which they keep to themselves, for fear of causing massive
panic, for national security reasons such as protecting secrets or
the identities of their spies, military or other personnel, ...as
well as to keep various personnel who are involved in criminal
activity from being exposed.

While we may not agree with all of what they do, if you consider the
potential outcomes of the various alternatives, I believe that you
just might find secrecy to be the better option in some cases.

Examining what happened across America just following the 9/11
attacks where Americans believed to be of Middle Eastern descent were
attacked - being beaten, murdered, set on fire, hanged, etc. in
retaliation for the WTC & Pentagon attacks ...these things happened
because enraged Americans took out their anger on innocent persons
after listening and/or watching news reports.

More innocent Americans tragically died... which proves to me that
sometimes releasing information can cause as much or more more damage
than witholding it will cause.

What do you think might have happened if say, the CIA did have prior
knowledge of the attacks, and America was advised of this?

NY city residents would panic -- taking to the streets to flee,
carelessly injuring and killing innocent people in their attempts to
flee -- AND/OR -- angry citizens & hate groups would take to the
streets to attack Middle Easterners because of their skin color,
destroying their homes, businesses, etc., causing more innocent
people to be hurt or killed.
Washington, D.C. residents would do the same... and all of this would
happen simply because they HEARD that something MIGHT happen...

This reminds me of the debate as to whether or not the American
public should be made aware of every move the military makes during
this war...

If the government were to allow everything to be made public, it
would jeopardize not only the operation itself, but it would put
thousands of our troops into more imminent danger than they are
already exposed to.

Our enemies have the capability to view the news, scour the internet,
etc. just as we do -- and quite frankly, I don't think that many
Americans would even understand the tactics used during war, much
less condone them -- therefore, they do not need to be made aware of
them.

Having been in the military & sworn to protect my country and its
people, -- it was (and still is) very hard for me to think about
taking the life of another (unless in immediate danger from that
person). It just doesn't seem "right"...

Understanding the senseless murdering of innocent people who may be
thought to be "the enemy" but who in fact are just innocent civilians
in the wrong place at the wrong time would be pretty hard for most
people to understand and/or to deal with.

As it is now, we have many demonstrators protesting this war in
Afghanistan, because "innocent people are being killed" -- but
unfortunately that's what happens in war...people are killed.

Are Americans any better than the people in other countries? No...
but some people would argue that we are, and some behave as though we
are.

Undoubtedly, had we been informed PRIOR to the 9/11 attacks -- many
Americans would have "gone off the deep end" out of fear, anger &
panic, and we'd have been saddled with even more troubles than we
were handed AFTER the attacks.

We're not used to living in war zones -- but people in many other
countries live through it every day, and have no idea of what life is
like WITHOUT war. It's sad, ...VERY sad.

Sometimes I wonder if the Americans who were killed on 9/11/01 would
feel that justice was being done if they knew we had waged war in
Afghanistan in their honor -- and that thousands more innocent people
had been killed because we are trying to get to Osama bin Laden.

I doubt they would agree that we should be there in such force, but
then again, others strongly believe we ARE doing "the right
thing"....although many innocent people are being affected by our
actions.

Besides the unnecessary human suffering and casualties, this war is
draining billions of dollars from Americans.

I think it's ridiculous to spend billions upon billions of our tax
dollars waging war anywhere -- and even more ridiculous to spend
billions and billions MORE to drop food & health supplies in the same
region we are destroying with such magnitude.

We SHOULD be spending our money in OUR OWN COUNTRY to help our own
people -- not to destroy innocent people's lives in a country where
we don't belong.

The next thing you know, ...we will be spending billions more to
rebuild the places we have destroyed in Afghanistan!

All of this destruction and waste of life, time, money & effort --
and for WHAT? To find ONE man? What a crock!

No, there's obviously much more to this story... and undoubtedly it
has to do with control of major drug or oil supplies, ...or we'd not
have such a strong interest and/or presence in that region.

Having available technology that can find people anywhere, listen in
on conversations behind walls from blocks away, locate drugs and/or
people in buildings through walls, etc. -- it is without a doubt that
our people could find Osama bin Laden and take him out -- WITHOUT
having to destroy an entire country and its people.

There is already too much pain and destruction in the world, and the
U. S. certainly isn't helping matters with this war.

While I would love to see Osama bin Laden and his groups of faithful
followers found, prosecuted, tortured, and killed for what they have
done to Americans, we should NOT be terrorizing, killing and/or
displacing innocent people in an effort to find the few persons
responsible for the 9/11 attacks on America.

There has to be other ways to get to Osama and his followers.

What about the billions of dollars we spend each year on intelligence
operations & personnel? Has all of our money been wasted -- or been
diverted to someone's bank accounts? It certainly appears that way at
times...

We don't belong in Afghanistan, and we should STOP getting involved
in other countries' problems, choosing instead to "take care of our
own" right HERE in America.

If we did that, I doubt we'd have so many "enemies" in other
countries (although I could be wrong). ; )

The billions that are obviously being wasted in the war in
Afghanistan could be better spent feeding, clothing, housing and
caring for AMERICANS.

After all, it is OUR tax dollars being spent -- and it seems to me
that we have a right to say HOW it gets spent -- and if we can't
voice our opinions and have them respected by our government
officials, then we shouldn't have to surrender our money to the
government at all.

They call this country "The Land Of the Free", but there's certainly
NO FREEDOM in being forced to pay taxes to a government that doesn't
respect our opinions, wastes our hard earned money, fills their own
pockets with it, or uses it to destroy others while ignoring the
NEEDS of AMERICANS...

We have already caused 10 times the destruction in Afghanistan that
those attacks caused in America that day, and we CANNOT bring back
the people killed on 9/11/01.

Americans have rallied and stood together to raise money for the
persons affected by the tragedies, and we have done a great job.

Now it's time for America to STOP the destruction in Afghanistan and
elsewhere, and START taking care of the people IN AMERICA -- by
demanding that our government use our tax dollars for THAT reason
instead of for destructive purposes.

If we can show such a united force to help NY and other victims of
the 9/11 attacks, we can show that much and more of a force to help
the people ALL OVER AMERICA...right? ; )

Or maybe I'm just dreaming...

Happy Holidays!
