YURY RAZGULAYEV: KYRGYZSTAN REPUBLIC IS THREATENED WITH THE NEW KIND OF HEROIN � THE TEARS OF ALLAH Specialists say that the flow of drugs in the republic of Kyrgyzstan has doubled over recent months since the start of the operation in Afghanistan. This trend can be confirmed with certain figures. Over 60 kilos of heroin were seized from drug dealers in October; one month only produced almost one-fourth of the usual annual volume. As it is known, there are three kinds of heroin: white, grey, and brown heroin. They are different in their extent of purification. However, as the events have shown, the manufacture of the product, which deteriorates the human mind and organism, is not as slow as it may seem. The special services gained information that terrorist number one, Osama bin Laden, hired first-class chemists from Europe to work in his special heroin labs in the south of Afghanistan. This �scienctific research� created an absolutely new kind of the drug, which was called "Tears of Allah." The new drug is a liquid. Secondly, it is much more concentrated. It is necessary to have ten kilos of raw opium for the production of one kilo of common heroin, but it takes 50 kilos of raw opium for the production of this liquid drug. Therefore, "Tears of Allah" are at least five times as potent as the common form. For the time being, the law-enforcement bodies of Kyrgyzstan have not yet had a chance to come across the new drug. However, they are sure that the new heroine, which is stronger and more profitable, will be there during the coming six months. It is not going to be easy to find this new drug. It will be disguised as a beverage, for example. Besides, "Tears of Allah" do not have a specific smell. Therefore, the customs workers will have to check on just everything, to smell and taste even baby food. "Tears of Allah" are on the way, but common drugs also pose a very big threat for Kyrgyzstan. As experts say, it is Central Asia that is going to become the major transit region on the way from Afghanistan to Europe. It is connected with the fact that Iran and Pakistan have considerably intensified the protection of their borders as well as the struggle with the drug dealers. The latter will most likely be sentenced to death there. However, the situation is a lot more human and peaceful on the former Soviet borders. They are open, almost totally open, and any check points are very easy to pass through with the help of money, especially dollars. The special services have information that there are tons of opium and heroin concentrated in the north of Afghanistan. Taking into account the situation in the country and the aspiration of the anti-Taliban coalition to establish law and order there, the drug dealers� wish to realize their goods as soon as possible is rather understandable. They need to take their drugs to the sales markets and the majority of them will go via Kyrgyzstan and other countries of Central Asia.
