Catherine Austin Fitts, President of Solari and author of "Narco Dollars for
Dummies,"
will be a panelist on the NY Times Drug Policy Forum on January 7, 2002 at
8pm EST.
Dean Becker's Drug Truth series on the New York Times website has emerged as
one of the most lively, entertaining and open debates about one of the most
controversial subjects of our day: "how the money works" on narcotics
trafficking and the so-called War on Drugs and what we are going to do about
it.
On January 7th, panelists will include economist Milton Friedman, Judge
James P. Gray, author of "Why Our Drug Laws Have Failed and What We Can Do
About It: A Judicial Indictment of the War on Drugs" and Canadian Barrister
Eugene Oscapella.
For those of you who enjoy being part of democracy at work ---raw and
uncut---do join us on January 7th. With a Nobel Prize winning economist, two
highly qualified legal minds, and an "enemy of the state" committed to
bringing the wisdom of the "truckers and food mart ladies point of view"
into a discussion on how the money really works, there is room for
everybody. After all, if we were so smart, we would not be in this pickle.

Instructions for entering the New York Times forums

1. Type in www.nytimes.com, and it will ask you to register as a user. As I
recall, you set up a screen or two, and choose a user name
2. Once setup as a user, on the main page, select (under OPINION on the
left side of the screen) "Readers Opinions"
3. Select from FORUM TOPICS (near top left) the NATIONAL/NY button.
4. Under NATIONAL FORUMS, (On right side of page,) select DRUG POLICY
5. This will bring you to the forum. Usually 5 to ten posts will be on
screen. The red buttons have the option of going backwards to look at
PREVIOUS posts and if you are back on a prior page you can go to RECENT
post again with a click on that red button.
6. To post to the forum, either scroll to the bottom of the page, (any page
you are in), or select the POST MESSAGE red button. Simply type in your
response and then hit the POST MY MESSAGE red button which is directly
under your message itself.
7. After you post your message, you will have the opportunity to change it,
you will go to a screen where your message is displayed in format how it
will look on the "Posted screen". If you are happy with it, press the red
button that says OKAY, if you want to change it, click EDIT, or if you
change your mind, hit CANCEL.
8. Having gotten this far with my description, it is really quite easy once
you go thru it. Remember, after you post, your response will be on a screen
with only one prior post -- you must hit RECENT again to see the full
screen of recent posts.
