Some Libertarians favor unlimited immigration (actually more to the point most libertarians favor unrestricted movement between borders). However that applies theoratically to a different world then exists today. Unrestricted border access only is practical between countries with economies on a equal footing and with similiar population density. The big problem with unrestricted border access is overpopulation and density of population. NOTHING contributes to environmental degradation more then population density. Population density also encourages statist solutions for population density generated social problems. Since WWII, the US population has doubled due mainly to its immigration policies. Lastly, unrestricted border access and mass immigration acts to preserve authoritarian oligarchies throughout the world. The US is the "safety valve" for the rich elite that own and run third world nations like their private piggy bank. If ambitious immigrants could not run away from their native lands, eventually they would be forced to change the closed economies and repressive systems.
