Israel Radio: PA offered Tanzim NIS 3,000 to sit in jail as Islamic Jihad men for EU Aaron Lerner Date: 31 December 2001 Israel Radio Arab Affairs Correspondent Avi Yissakharov reported this morning that he has learned from Palestinian and Israeli security sources that the Palestinian Authority offered members of Yasser Arafat's Fatah Tanzim payment of NIS 3,000 each to sit in jail for a month so that they could be presented to visiting representatives of the European Union as jailed members of Islamic Jihad.
