-Caveat Lector- Hannah Newman, author of the Rainbow Swastika, which appears on many sites on the internet, has written an excellently researched piece on a series of very popular books. Many believe that Lucis Trust has very little power and so there is no need to be concerned about its message. Wrong! Occult Lucis Trust thinking is influencing many people. The trick is to learn to recognize it. It's only great innocence that would lead a person to believe that a Christian hating, Jew hating, occult organization would openly tell the truth about how it is spreading it's influence. (Those of you familiar with Alister Crowley should recognize a parallel with his "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.")
Conversations With God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Books 1 - 3) by Neale Donald Walsch (1997) After coming across more and more references to this book series and its author, I started feeling left out of the "conversation" so to speak. But what decided me to finally investigate both book and author was learning through the grapevine that Walsch's "God" totally absolves Adolf Hitler. And as I followed the various threads, I began to come across the all-too-familiar "plan for planetary transformation", known to me from years of research on the antisemitism embedded in that movement. I have found more threads in this bestselling book than I care to think about at the moment. One commonality is that, according to Walsch, these "conversations" made their debut through the time-honored occult practice of automatic writing, making his books a "channeled transmission". Another is this rehabilitation of Hitler, and a third is the mystical rationalization for his rehab. All of these closely mimic the writings of occultist Alice Bailey, a major spokesperson for the "planetary transformation" doctrine in the 30s and 40s who is still widely revered today by several influential global figures and bodies including the UN. The influence of Bailey is likely the reason behind the strong success of Walsch's books, along with his growing influence and mushrooming global organizations since his "Conversations" hit the bookshelves. Here is a summary of what I found. First an introduction from Newsweek's religion editor, written Aug.01: ---------- CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, now a five-volume series [3 main volumes, plus a "guidebook" and "Q&A" book], has kept author Neale Donald Walsch on one best-seller list or another since 1992. The series has sold 5 million copies, all in hardcover-not bad for a guy who claims that God talks to him like a buddy over breakfast. A former Roman Catholic married six times, Walsch has God's own word that there is no such thing as good and evil-it's all a matter of "group consciousness"-and so there is no hell. But there is a heaven, and even Adolf Hitler is among the blessed, God tells Walsch, because "Hitler didn't hurt anyone." This will come as news to Jews, but God insists that Hitler "didn't inflict suffering, he ended it," thereby ushering all his victims into heaven ahead of schedule.... Walsch maintains a Web site for readers eager for God's latest revelations and even offers spiritual retreats for those who want to learn how to schmooze with God themselves. ---------- I am not keen on contributing any of my hard-earned cash to support Mr. Walsch's growing empire, so I have not gone out and bought the books to check them out first hand. But there are a few direct quotes I was able to glean from the Web. I concentrated on Book 2, which Walsch distinguishes as a "wake-up call" to Humanity, as opposed to Book 1 which he says was to comfort and encourage. Book 2 is where we find the demand that we change our assessment of Hitler, in order to get to the level of the divine. ------------- quotes from Book 2 ----------- The mistakes Hitler made did no harm or damage to those whose deaths he caused. Those souls were released from their earthly bondage like butterflies emerging from a cocoon.... When you see the utter perfection in everything - not just in those things with which you agree, but (and perhaps especially) those things with which you disagree - you achieve mastery. No one who has experienced death ever mourns the death of anyone. (p. 42) Hitler was created by you. He arose out of your Collective Consciousness. . . The consciousness of separation, segregation, superiority - of "we" versus "they," of "us" and "them" - is what creates the Hitler Experience. The consciousness of Divine Brotherhood, of unity, of Oneness, of "ours," not just "yours/mine," is what creates the Christ experience. (p. 55) I [God] do not love 'good' more than I love 'bad.' **Hitler went to heaven.** When you understand this, you will understand God. (p. 61, emphasis in original as italics ) [The statement "Hitler went to heaven" reportedly appears also on p. 35.] ------------ And this absolution pronounced on Hitler is extended to everyone: ------------------ Those who taught you were wrong. I have never set down a "right" or "wrong," a "do" or a "don't." To do so would be to strip you completely of your greatest gift--the opportunity to do as you please. (p.39) The Masters who have walked this planet are those who have discovered the secret of the relative world--and refused to acknowledge its reality. (p.57) I tell you, I despise nothing. None of it is repulsive to Me. . . Evil is that which you call evil. Yet even that I love, for it is only through that which you call evil that you can know good. . .It is all relative. (p. 61) The answer is: you have no obligation. Neither in relationship, nor in all of life. . .Nor are you bound by any circumstances or situations, nor constrained by any code or law. Nor are you punishable for any offense, nor capable of any--for there is no such thing as being "offensive" in the eyes of God. (p.135) Let each person in relationship worry not about the other, but only, only, only about Self. . .The most loving person is the person who is Self-centered. (p.124) ------ So there you have it from "God": there is no "wrong" -- except for the Ten Commandments. But not to worry, all you H-anti list members who believe in a just and moral God. The "God" of these conversations has no desire to impersonate the Jewish G-d. In fact, his name turns out to be "Neale": --------- "It feels like I'm sitting here writing this to myself." "You are," comes the answer. (p.59) "Are You telling me that this entire experience of my conversation with You could be nothing more than a compilation of my thoughts and feelings on a thing?" (p. 223) [The convoluted answer was basically, "you betcha".] ------- That Walsch is talking to himself should put things in perspective, although his 5 million fans seem unaffected. What's more, these "conversations" may not even be the new revelations that Walsch claims they are, according to Chris Floyd, writer for the _St. Petersburg Times_, July 7, 1997: ---- Although Walsch has been accused of cribbing the "Conversations" from an obscure book he wrote under another name in 1982 - a little screed called "Hitler Went to Heaven".... ----- If this source is reliable, we now have a clue that the cosmic pardon of Hitler in "Conversations" is more than a sidenote in CWG. (BTW, Floyd's full commentary on Walsch's "God" is hilarious satire, as is his entire column which deals with similarly weird news items - well written and worth a read -- http://www.sptimesrussia.com/secur/276-277/global-eye.html ) Nevertheless, I cannot rest easy about the public reaction to Walsch's book, whose Hitler defense should have sent the recycled rag straight back into obscurity. 1- "Conversations" has been on the NY Times bestseller list for several years running. 2- Amazon.com readers sent in 90 reviews which give it an average 4 star rating (of 5). 3- It ranks as Number One at Yahoo's on-line bookstore. 4- It was chosen for Amazon.com Philosophy and Religion Editor's Recommended Book feature, 01/16/97. 5- "Conversations" has been translated into 27 languages. 6- Walsch now has some 15 books espousing the same theme. One book for parental concern is his "Conversations with God for Teens", for which according to the Amazon review, "he collected questions from teenagers around the world, brought them into his private dialogue with God, and then printed God's answers on the page." In response to a question, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers the girl is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" Well, what can we expect from a "God" who tells people to think "only, only, only" of themselves in a relationship? But the danger lies with the idea, presented here to adolescents and embedded throughout "Conversations", that "We" are all One, and so whatever I (or Hitler) may consider okay to do with someone else can't ever really be a problem for the other person, or for society. 7- Even the Publisher (Hampton Roads) seems more a propagandist for Walsch than a bookselling business. Here is what was supposed to be a synopsis of CWG Book 2, posted at the Barnes & Noble website (and reproduced here just as they have it - I don't know what they omitted with the ellipses). Not only does it say nothing about the book's contents, but it is so full of mystical "Universal Mind" missionary fervor that it's downright creepy: --------- >From the Publisher ...this paradigm shift will take great wisdom, great courage, and massive determination. For fear will strike at the heart of these concepts, and call them false. Fear will eat at the core of these magnificent truths, and render them hollow.... Yet you will not have, cannot produce, the society of which you have always dreamed unless and until you see with wisdom and clarity the ultimate truth: that what you do to others, you do to yourself; what you fail to do for others, you fail to do for yourself; that the pain of others is your pain, and the joy of others your joy, that when you disclaim any part of it, you disclaim a part of yourself. Now is the time to reclaim yourself. Now is the time to see yourself again as Who You Really Are, and thus, render yourself visible again. For when you, and your true relationship with God become visible, then We are indivisible. And nothing will ever divide Us again. -------- Now to Walsch himself. This is a very, very busy man, starting global groups all over the place and still having time for churning out books, tapes and a stream of lecture tours and interviews. I suppose that's to be expected from someone who thinks he's God. (Source for the following is - where else? - conversationswithgod.org...) - Walsch has gone on to write "Friendship with God" and "Communion with God", both of which also hit the NYT Bestsellers. There are now 15 popular books in all, plus a DVDed lecture on "Abundance and Holistic Living". On the last, the Amazon reviewer comments that this lecture appears to be a defense of the "fortune" he made on "Conversations". - He started "Conversations with God Foundation", (actually pre-existent since 1995 as The ReCreation Foundation) which his site describes as "a non-profit organization with planetary outreach whose mission it is to give people back to themselves." Actually, in exploring the ReCreation link, we find that the goal is to revive an ancient civilization once governed by "a race of Beings" known as the super-evolved "Bringers of the Light". This is one of the alternate titles for Bailey's "Hierarchy of Ascended Masters". - He's also investing in education: "a New Form Education program called The Heartlight Education based on concepts found in the With God books, and spiritual growth workshops and retreats around the world." Among the educational models of the "HeartLight School" are "the best of a variety of alternative educational models" beginning with "Waldorf" -- which I have personally documented as a racist, antisemitic, occultic religious school system which is running into public opposition in both the U.S. and Europe. - He founded a web-based radio site, "CWGRadio.com", plus another called "NewThoughtRadio" which is dedicated to promoting "leading teachers and messengers on the edge of global transformation". - The funniest enterprise is: "Conversations with God Resources, a for-profit company dedicated to spreading the message of the With God books utilizing the tools of commerce" -- a very long way of saying "global marketing & sales division". I suppose God's profit motives cannot be referred to in the usual profane terms. - On the non-profit side, Walsch created "Greatest Visions", whose goal is to "generate revenue for non-profit efforts that manifest CWG values in the world". The only beneficiaries I could find at the moment are the "Walsch & God" team. - I wasn't sure how to class CWG's on-line Bookstore, which sells all Walsch's books but inexplicably includes a link for "Donations". Times must be hard. In his "hello" letter, Walsch complains that donations to his org have dropped off since 9/11, makes a repeated appeal for contributions, and offers six different donor plans. - There are CWG "study groups" in 41 countries, including Israel (although I remain skeptical, as the Israel link didn't work). Some of the groups are "wisdom circles" marked "for teens only", presumably giving out the kind of wisdom found in "CWG for Teens". - Then too he is "the creator of Millennium Legacies, Inc., a New Wave communications company which operates Walsch Music and Walsch Books, also to send the message of the With God books to larger and larger audiences through artists and authors using other articulations." - There's also "Oneness Now", where Walsch does the trendy thing of channeling "messages" from God directly to the Internet surfer, centered around the "you are me, god" theme. - And he is also "the co-founder of the New Millennium Peace Foundation, sponsors of The Humanity Conference in Seoul, South Korea in June, 2001, a gathering of leading edge thinkers called together to consider new ways to address the challenge of bringing last [sic] peace to the world." Anyone curious about the "new ways of bringing peace to the world" he wants to sponsor? As a demonstration of what the CWG mentality has to offer, here's Walsch commenting on the 9/11 terrorist attacks: ------------- Let us seek not to pinpoint blame, but to pinpoint cause. Unless we take this time to look at the cause of our experience, we will never remove ourselves from the experiences it creates. Instead, we will forever live in fear of retribution from those within the human family who feel aggrieved, and, likewise, seek retribution from them. So at this time it is important for us to direct our anger toward the cause of our present experience. And that is not only individuals or groups who have attacked others, but also the reasons they have done so. Unless we look at these reasons, we will never be able to eliminate these attacks. To me the reasons are clear. We have not learned the most basic human lessons. We have not remembered the most basic human truths. We have not understood the most basic spiritual wisdom. In short, we have not been listening to God, and because we have not, we watch ourselves do ungodly things. The message of Conversations with God is clear: we are all one. That is a message the human race has largely ignored. Our separation mentality has underscored all of our human creations. Our religions, our political structures, our economic systems, our educational institutions, and our whole approach to life have been based on the idea that we are separate from each other. This has caused us to inflict all manner of injury, one upon the other. And this injury causes other injury, for like begets like and negativity only breeds negativity. It is as easy to understand as that. And so now let us pray that all of us in this human family will find the courage and the strength to turn inward and to ask a simple, soaring question: what would love do now? If we could love even those who have attacked us, and seek to understand why they have done so, what then would be our response? [he goes on to eliminate any support for the U.S. War on Terrorism.] ----------- Ah, the evils of self-defense against barbaric murder - a sure sign of ungodly "separatism". A world ruled by this credo is no place for Jews to be living. And what do we hear from the Jewish community about Walsch's Hitler-is-okay message? Not much can be found on line. Only Rabbi Michael Lerner, one of the leading mavens in the Jewish Renewal Movement, who expressed "skepticism" in approaching Walsch's books, in part because "the God whose voice I hear still judges the Holocaust and slavery to be wrong, not just ineffective for somebody's goals." Yet his review ends in glowing praise: -------- There are many points where I hear God's voice differently from Walsch, and you may hear God differently too. But that is exactly what Walsch hopes to stimulate - the self-confidence in each of us to open our ears to God's voice. Walsch takes some of the most complex philosophical, spiritual and metaphysical issues and makes them easy to understand. Taken together, all three volumes of "Conversations with God" turn out to be a brilliant work of spiritual discourse.... There is something deeply inspired about this work. Neale Walsch has given us an important gift. ------- In my opinion, Neale Walsch, and the wide reception he is enjoying, has indeed given us something - one more indication that our society is turning a dangerous corner. The moment this "new thought" society can divinely "forgive and understand" Hitler, the Jewish people, and others who cannot forgive or understand, take on the role of ungodly trouble-maker. We should have been monitoring and counter-balancing this "paradigm shift" when it first appeared years ago, but better late than never.
