-Caveat Lector- UN Planetary Tax Plans
Are you dreading the annual April 15th income tax deadline? If you think that federal, state, and local taxes are bad enough, imagine a slew of global taxes besides. The New American has warned for years that this is precisely what the one-world globalists have been planning. Soon they will be formally promoting a host of new taxing, spending, and "investing" schemes at the United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD), scheduled for March 18th-22nd in Monterrey, Mexico. Addressing the FfD Preparatory Committee (Prep Com) in New York on January 14th, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan made known that the bankrupt socialist regimes that comprise much of the UNs membership, together with their Wall Street bankster creditors, will be seeking a much larger piece of the global economic pie. "Monterrey must mark a turning point in the history of official development assistance [ODA]," Annan insisted. According to the UN chief, "we need another $50 billion of official development assistance per year." "That means," he says, "doubling the present figure of ODA which may sound ambitious, but would still leave us well short of the recognized goal of 0.7 per cent of gross national product for the donor countries. Why dont we take that extra $50 billion as an immediate, short-term target, to be announced at Monterrey and achieved within two to three years? It is certainly achievable, if all those who have not yet reached 0.7 per cent make a new, and real, effort." The draft text of the "Monterrey Consensus," the main document to be presented at the conference, barely gives a hint of the tax plans the UN globocrats have in mind. "An effective, efficient, and accountable system for mobilizing public resources and managing their use by governments is essential," says the draft. "We recognize the need to secure fiscal sustainability along with equitable and efficient tax systems and administration...." Rest assured, more of the planetary tax plans will be rolling forth in the months ahead. Copyright 2002 American Opinion Publishing Incorporated -end article- ------------------ -THe eXTReMiST "I've always been a strong U.N. proponent....
