This item there it is - this explains Arthur Godfrey getting on the
airwaves standing beside USAF plane, telling Americans that within 20
years the USA would have weather control (note they chaned that pretty
fast to "modification) whether we liked it or not. I forgot this man,
was virtually a government plant, even though he was just another
huckster selling soup.
In a Washington Garden Party this comment was the subject of
considerable discussion - people were shocked, and in this group was a
General Booth, and the last Commodore - believe this was when Godfrey
had checked out in jets, which was something you had to do.
Anyway, this explains why Arhtur Godfrey knew about this program - in
those days, people didn't talk - and they did not have to cloak
everything with "classified" to know enough to keep their mouths shut.
But Godfrey went down soon after that and maybe this was reason why - he
was just getting a little too big for his britches.
Besides he was not that funny or witty.
