Queen's itinerary faxed to Maccas

AN 80-page fax containing details of the Queen's Australian tour has been
accidentally faxed to a McDonald's restaurant in Brisbane.
A spokeswoman for the Queen's office said the fax of press clippings and details of
the Queen's itinerary did not compromise security.
"It was just an internal matter," she said.
"There was nothing in there that was a security breach, it was all innocuous
information."
The spokeswoman said she did not know how the fax would have been sent to the
restaurant or from where it originated.
"It might have come from a number of different places," she said.
Meanwhile, the spokeswoman said Prince Philip, famous for his gaffes, did not mean
to offend anyone when he asked an Aborigine whether tribes still threw spears at
each other during a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Park in Cairns yesterday.
"He did not mean to offend anyone and I think the way it has been reported is totally
out of context," she said.
"It was a light-hearted remark and there are varying interpretations of what was said
and, of course, no offence was intended."
Park founder William Brim said the prince was talking to his father, Ivan, about the
relationship between the different clans.
"When he came to my dad, dad was the elder representing the Djabugay elders," Mr
Brim said.
"So he asked dad if he still threw speers at them (the other tribes)."
Mr Brim said he and his father were not offended by the comments.
The Queen will today open the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
(CHOGM) at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.
Prince Philip will attend a morning tea with the English Speaking Union in Brisbane
before travelling to Roma, in western Queensland.
