AAA Historical Americana - World Exonumia.
Complete List of Fraternal Organizations: A-L.
A complete listing of all secret society, fraternal organizations and fraternal orders with abbreviations;
with slogans and mottoes. For ease in attributing exonumia with initials only.
This is Part ONE: Letters A to L. Part
Two: M-Z
If you COLLECT items from any of these groups, please write; I have exonumia for sale. Thanks! Exonumia defined.
THANKS to Jerry Bass for all his help on this list. This is a complete listing of all known groups. If you find
any exonumia with unlisted initials, please let me know. This is a fairly exhaustive listing, listing all those
groups who issued exonumia items, but does not list all known 'greek' societies.
Further RESEARCH: If you are seeking additional information, see links at the bottom of the page on PART
TWO, or send $20 in advance, and I will research them further. I cannot guarantee any results, nor do I gurarantee
the accuracy or completness of the reply. This is NOT my primary business and I am unable to do any research for
free, sorry! Most of these groups no longer exist. For information and addresses of current groups, check with
your local library for a book on fraternal organizations. Try: Gale's Acronyms and Initialisms Dictionary
or Schmidt Fraternal Organizations.
NEW LISTINGS: Please send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you have any corrections or additions. FIND more information on the web at this page.
YOU CAN HELP: If you find this page to be useful, PLEASE include a link to it on
your web page. Thanks!
SWORDS: Items preceded by an asterisk are known to have issued swords, and probably other
exonumia. I am not an expert on fraternal swords. Imported swords were marked with the country of origin after
1893. Generic fraternal swords without initials could have been used by several different groups. See links at
end of page two.
NOTE: This is a LIST of ALL KNOWN societies, fraternal groups and similar organizations,
including many no longer politically correct. This list is mainly of those groups that issued exonumia: tokens,
medals, buttons, badges, ribbons, etc. and does NOT list every single group in the world. See the links at the
bottom of the second page for other sites that list many 'modern' groups. Sorry if you don't like some of the groups,
but do not bother me about it, this is JUST a list, not a recommendation or approval of any group!
