i wanted to point something out, just in case anyone's memory isn't quite long enough...

for the last 2 days, abcnbccbsfoxcnnmsnbccnbcnpr, et al, have been playing out a story that the bush
administration, and the president himself, had received 'some' information from the cia in august of last year,
just prior to the events of 9/11, that osama bin laden's group was planning possible airline hijackings in the
u.s.a....

the bush administration now admits to these alleged cia briefings but claims that the information was too
vague and nonspecific for anyone to know what was coming.

in addition, the administration claims that communication gaps between the cia and the fbi created a
situation in which all of the pertinent data was not 'filtered' correctly...

interesting that many of us out here in reality seem to be filtering things correctly...am i to assume that my
filters function so much better than the government's $300bn intelligence machine???  i don't think so...then
again, it must be, because 8 months ago we in the internet community had this one nailed...as the following
information will avail...

this story is just more smoke and mirrors...it is a scratch on a giant iceberg and is being released only to
quell the growing number of people who have serious questions about what the hell is really going on.  you
can bet this story will try to go away and not lead to any further investigation...it is simply damage control...

we go from no foreknowledge, to some foreknowledge, to who knows what next version...

so before the story fades away, as is so often the case, i'd like to propose one question to condaleezza rice
- our esteemed national security advisor and ari fleischer - mouthpiece of the pres...both of whom stumbled
thru much easier questions all day today...

my question is this...

how do you reconcile the following 2 stories - each of which was reported in any number of this planet's
respectable news media - and your current version of what you all knew and when...

for both stories i will include a couple of links but a simple google search will yield many more sources...

on october 31st, 2001 the french daily, le figaro and radio france international, reported that in early july,
2001, osama bin laden received treatment in the american hospital of dubai for his well publicized kidney
problems.  during his 10 day stay at the american hospital, he was met by an operative of the u.s. cia for
an undisclosed purpose.

this story was picked up by all the major wires and was reported thru much of the mainstream press.

so you would think that in the above mentioned cia briefings to the president in august, something about this
would have been mentioned right???  i mean with osama being a big, bad, scary terrorist and all...and 'our'
guy meeting with him only a month earlier???

what gives???  were these two just buds from our last adventure in a'stan when osama was on our team???
was (is) osama still on the cia payroll???  how come this wasn't a concern???

a bbc investigation released on november 6, 2001 presented significant, documented evidence that the fbi
had been instructed to 'back off'  investigations of the saudis (and the bin laden family, in particular) during
the clinton administration and increasingly after the new bush administration had taken office...

again, this story was picked up and reported thru much of the global press.

huh???

again, what gives???

you guys understand my question, right???  i mean your statements of today don't seem to jive with these
stories, ya know???

so anyway, if you could just check with your handlers and drop me a quick answer at the address below, i,
and any number of other americans, would appreciate it...

once we get this one out of the way, we can get to some of the more important questions...

...and we do have alot of questions...
