Subject: Israel Sends Worldwide SOS for Doctors -- Fears Massive Casualties

1. ISRAEL SENDS WORLDWIDE SOS FOR DOCTORS - FEARS MASSIVE CASUALTIES

Israel has quietly sent a worldwide SOS to Jewish organizations around the globe requesting doctors.

Israel believes that Saddam Hussein may strike Israel with biological weapons, possibly smallpox.

Fearing mass casualties, Israel has asked friendly Jewish organizations to begin lining up doctors who are prepared to fly to Israel at a moment's notice to help with any disaster.

One source told NewsMax that Israel has been told by U.S. sources that the war with Iraq could begin as early as Nov. 5 of this year.

Another source told NewsMax this week that Israel believes "it has no more than 60 days" to prepare for major strikes against its homeland.

Already Israel is preparing for a worst-case scenario.

The Israelis have told Washington and Baghdad that if Israel is attacked it will retaliate. If weapons of mass destruction are used, Israel promises it will respond with nuclear weapons against Iraq.

Israel has begun other preparations. Recently, Israel began broadening the number of Israelis who will be inoculated against smallpox.

2. FBI AGENT'S E-MAIL WONDERED WHY U.S. 'PROTECTED' TERRORISTS

An FBI agent testified on Friday that the bureau did not properly probe two terrorists who had entered U.S. territory.

His e-mail memo to bureau officials just 11 days before 9/11 has been widely quoted, though some details have not been noted.

Here is the e-mail:

"Whatever has happened to this - someday someone will die - and wall or not - the public will not understand why we were not more effective in throwing every resource we had at certain 'problems.' Let's hope the [FBI's] National Security Law Unit will stand behind their decisions then, especially since the biggest threat to us now, UBL [bin Laden], is getting the most protection.' "

This e-mail fits with other evidence outlined in NewsMax's latest book, "Catastrophe: Clinton's Role in America's Worst Disaster."

"Catastrophe" reveals that the FBI and the CIA, far from protecting Americans from attack, seemed more interested during the Clinton years in protecting terrorists than Americans.

"Catastrophe" notes that FBI agent Coleen Rowley made comments similar to the FBI agent whose e-mail wondered why the bureau was giving bin Laden "protection." Rowley admitted once that she even joked to fellow agents that the bureau seemed more interested in protecting terrorists than investigating them.

Then there is the horrific tale of CIA Agent Robert Baer.

As "Catastrophe" reveals, Baer was the highest-ranking CIA officer in Iraq during 1995. He says the CIA was close to toppling Saddam using indigenous forces and Iraqi army support - that is, until Bill Clinton pulled the plug and Baer was recalled to Washington.

Baer also notes that Clinton insured Saddam was flush with cash, and kept open illegal smuggling routes through Turkey.

3. ADMINISTRATION SUPPORTS 9/11 COMMISSION TOO LATE

After strenuously opposing any independent commission, which had been proposed to investigate the causes of 9/11 and why the CIA and FBI failed the American public so miserably, the Bush administration did an about-face to come out in favor of such a commission last Friday.

Why the change?

For one thing, the evidence is now compelling that the FBI and CIA were negligent. With Friday's testimony, along with that of other officials, overwhelming proof has been offered that the CIA and FBI could have prevented 9/11.

But now it appears safe to begin an independent probe.

A ranking Republican congressman told NewsMax this weekend that the Bush administration support for the independent probe comes so late it doesn't matter.

The congressman noted that Congress will effectively be out of Washington for elections, and a lame-duck Congress will sit until January.

That means that it will be well into next year before any hearings may begin - and by then the White House hopes to engage Iraq in war and kick Saddam out.

After that, public interest in an independent 9/11 commission will have waned - at least that's what official Washington is hoping.
