Prudy, you do read a lot into a few words. Jews have been moving in and out of
Israel for many, many years now. She didn't say she was joining the army did she?
It was her word and placement of the word "first" that alarmed me. As for Jews (American and otherwise) moving in and out of Israel that is a given. As I recall the man who was killed in Pakistan, Daniel Pearl, had served in the Israeli army. That didn't used to be allowed by the United States, but apparently it is now okay. It worries me more that the John Deutch's of this world can give away anything to Israel and not hear a word of reprimand, and he can do this without going to Israel in any capacity.
