All there is to look at is the tone of the nation and the response by the other nuts
(those not
in the government) to the martial stimuli. The country is revved up about going to
war with
Iraq and there are some who just have to go out and kill some people. Around the time
Bill-Jeff Blythe-Clinton was making his rumblings about Jugoslavia, the KKK (Krazy
Kolumbine Kids) went on their rampage as I recall. Reaction doesn't have to be
identical,
just delivering the same result.
Terrorism is something that is perpetrated on the people by the overall tenor of
society.
Look at all the hyperbole that comes out about viruses and various diseases. Look at
an
airport. Looking at the various flicks that pass as entertainment ("Die Hards 1,2, &
3";
"Lethal Weapons 1, 2, 3, and 4"; Jackie Chan among others), there is a tendency toward
glorifying violence and anti-social behaviours that have no real basis in reality UNTIL
someone tries to imitate them. Then there's the sporting bunch who consider 22 men
trying to knock each other (even more) senseless as fun. WWF and the celebrity boxing
matches add a certain excitement.
Although the Englanders have volunteered their weapons, is it not a fact that more gun-
related / violent crimes are being committed? And at a time when Tiny Blur is revving
his
country up to relive its imperialist past?
