-Caveat Lector- This particular piece should be labeled, like many others, "Trust me, I know." If they were going to kill Wellstone, why would they waste putting a million into fighting him. Wellstone was being targeted all right, but in the way of all political fights. Major money is put into the tightest races, from both sides. Unless I've missed it, no one is saying where Wellstone funding came from. Conspiracy theorists could also say Wellstone was killed by the Dems because the race was tight and a sympathy vote stood a good chance of keeping a Democrat in.
